This may be an absolutely brilliant idea.
Or the dumbest one I ever had.
But the more I thought about it the more I became convinced it was a brilliant solution to something that has really bothered me for a long time
I love getting Birthday cards in the mail I really appreciate that my friend spent around $6-$8 plus postage and although I leave them up for at least 2 weeks, eventually they end up in the re-cycle bin. Single use greeting cards seem like such a waste. Of course I understand why the big card companies love this business model because it forces us to keep buying their product.
This has always bothered me - Well I think I have found a solution
Inspired by the movie "Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants" I designed the inside of the card with 6 spaces - with the intention of when the first recipient has enjoyed the card for a while they will send it to someone else. I think this is a fun solution and hopefully others will see not only the value to the planet of a re-usable greeting card but also enjoy the whimsy and connection to others who have already enjoyed the card.It might be a terrible business model but I think the rewards to reducing waste outweigh the pitfalls.
